Last Update 4 maanden geleden
The RC-FA5 Voice Remote Control is compatible with most Roku devices, including Roku Streaming Sticks, Roku Streaming Players, Roku-enabled TVs, and Roku sound bars. Additionally, this remote can replace many existing remotes, including models such as RC-AL2, RC-AL7, RC-EL1, RC-EL2, RC-FA1, RC-GZ1, RC-A1R, RC-ALIR, and RC-81. However, please note that the App Shortcut keys may vary.
Software Update Notice:
Before programming the RC-FA5 Voice Remote Control, ensure your Roku device's software is up to date. Follow these steps using an already paired remote or the Roku mobile app:
- Return to the main menu, click "Settings," then "System," and select "Software update."
- Click "Check now" to initiate an update if required.
- Follow the on-screen steps.
- Repeat until there are no more updates available.
NOTE: You may need to repeat this process until you see that you are up-to-date with the latest update. If you don't already have a remote paired where you can check, please continue with pairing this remote.
1. Automatic Method: Simple Pairing
- Install two AAA batteries into the remote by removing the battery cover, inserting batteries with matching polarity, and replacing the cover.
- The indicator light will flash, indicating that the remote has entered pairing mode. If the light does not flash, press and hold the Pairing button for 5 seconds until the light begins flashing.
- Ensure your Roku device is powered on. Your Roku should detect the remote and initiate the pairing process, displaying an onscreen message.
If the above does not work, see below:
2. Pairing via Roku Reset
Pairing via Resetting the Roku Device. Do the following:
Power off your Roku device by unplugging it from the power source.
Install batteries in the remote and enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the Pairing Button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes, then release the key.
Power on your Roku device while the remote is in pairing mode. Wait for the Roku to boot up and return to the home screen, then follow the onscreen pairing instructions.
Adding the RC-FA5 as a Second Remote:
If you already have a paired remote or are using the Roku mobile app, follow these steps to pair the RC-FA5 Voice Remote Control:
- Install batteries into the remote and return to the home screen on your TV.
- Navigate to "Settings," "Remotes & devices," and select "Add devices."
- Choose "Remote" and follow the onscreen setup instructions to complete pairing.
Setting the TV Keys [Volume +/- and Mute]
- During the setup and activation of your Roku device, you can set up your voice remote to control your TV's power and volume. You can do this later by visiting Settings > Remotes & Devices > Remotes > [select your remote] > Set up remote for TV control.
- The Roku device will automatically identify your TV's brand over HDMI and program the voice remote. If it can't detect the brand, you'll need to enter it manually. Connect your Roku device directly to your TV during setup to ensure proper detection. If you're setting up for surround sound, complete the setup before connecting to the AVR or soundbar.
How to set up your voice remote AFTER initial setup
Once your Roku device is activated and set up, you can access the settings menu to configure your voice remote for controlling your TV. To ensure that your TV's brand is detected successfully, we suggest that you temporarily connect your Roku device directly to your TV during the setup process.
- Press Home button on your Voice remote
- Scroll and select Settings
- Select Remotes & devices
- Select Remote
- Choose your voice remote from the list and select Set up remote for TV control
6. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
Using your RC-FA5 Voice Remote:
- Push-to-Talk Voice: Press and hold the voice (microphone icon) button while speaking.
- TV Controls: The Power and Volume keys (Vol+/Vol-, Mute) operate your TV.
Final Notes:
The RC-FA5 remote does not include features such as the lost remote finder, headphone listening, or personal/programmable shortcut keys. If you require these features, consider the Roku Voice Remote Pro.
